Preston Fox : Morgantown Native Returns
Morgantown native comes out of retirement to join the Mountaineers for this upcoming season. Preston Fox announced his retirement over ‘X’ in January of this year. Fox came to WVU as a walk-on, however earned a scholarship following the spring game in 2022. After a recent Rich Rodriguez press conference, he stated the WR room is one position where he has concerns in depth.
“I still think we got to get a little more depth at wide out. We just don’t have the numbers right now at wide receiver.” Rodriguez said.
Adding Fox back to the roster gives this position group another experienced, vocal leader to add to the locker room. Last year Fox served as a return man on punt and kick return, Fox also hauled in 12 catches, for 131 yards. Throughout his career he has accounted for 43 receptions, 548 yards, and three touchdowns. The 5’10 Redshirt Senior joins the Mountaineers in spring practice, and will be suiting up for his last year of eligibility.
“I’m excited and ready to get back out there and work!” Fox tells Country Roads Weekly
Preston is no stranger to the culture in West Virginia, fans should be excited to watch him develop even more under Rich Rod’s ‘Hard Edge’ culture.
